BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dermal Fillers in Denver, CO
Some of the first signs of facial aging are wrinkles, volume loss, and sagging. While turning back time isn’t an option, certain nonsurgical treatments can achieve a similar effect. With facial injectables, you can have smoother skin that looks youthfully supple, firm, and vibrant. While other spas and offices may offer Botox and fillers, Dr. Aycock personally performs all of her injections and uses her expert knowledge of facial anatomy to give beautiful and natural results.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a protein neurotoxin that corrects moderate to severe wrinkles in the forehead, brow, and eye area. It can also prevent wrinkles from forming in the future. With a single 10- to 15-minute treatment session, BOTOX® Cosmetic injections can slow the small muscle movements that create wrinkles so that the skin lies smooth and flat. Optimal results may be maintained with regular treatments approximately every 3 to 4 months.
Dermal fillers are nonsurgical treatments that can be used to correct wrinkles, folds, volume loss, and even minor sagging in the face. A short treatment session can create noticeably smoother and more youthful facial contours. There are a variety of fillers to choose from in order to create the ideal, customized treatment experience. Optimal results are best maintained with regular treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is a candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic or dermal fillers?
Candidates may be adults of any age. Some patients are looking to prevent future wrinkles or to enhance the appearance of lips or cheeks, while others are looking to correct the signs of aging that have already occurred. In some cases, surgical options will be recommended as a better or more cost effective alternative to injectable solutions. Ideal candidates for BOTOX® Cosmetic injections have concerns about wrinkles in the forehead, brow, and eye area. For dermal fillers, candidates may wish to add volume to cheeks or lips, to correct wrinkles around the nose and mouth, or to improve the appearance of lower eyelids. The best candidates for facial injectables may not yet need invasive facial surgery, or they may wish to maximize their aesthetic results after surgery.
Are facial injectables safe?
Facial injectables are subjected to rigorous safety evaluations. All treatments available at Dr. Aycock’s medical practice are approved as safe by the FDA. Dr. Aycock is a board-certified plastic surgeon and an approved practitioner to administer these treatments.
What are the risks of facial injectables?
Risks associated with these treatments may include short-term side effects such as swelling, tenderness, bruising, discomfort, itching, or skin rash. Rare complications may include allergic reaction, infection, tissue damage, displacement of the injectable material, and stroke. However, these risks are significantly lower than the risks associated with surgical treatments. Dr. Aycock will discuss them with you in detail to help you decide which treatment is right for you.
Which dermal filler is best?
There are several dermal fillers available for facial rejuvenation. Which one is best will depend on your needs and preferences, as each is specially formulated for a specific purpose. Dr. Aycock uses the following dermal fillers:
- Restylane®: A hyaluronic acid filler with several different formulas; used to reduce moderate to severe wrinkles in the mouth area, improve lip fullness, smooth nasolabial folds, or treat shadows in the lower eyelids.
- JUVÉDERM®: A hyaluronic acid filler with several different formulas; used to lift and volumize the cheeks, correct nasolabial folds, enhance lip volume and shape, or smooth moderate to severe wrinkles around the mouth and nose
- Volbella: A smoother hyaluronic filler used to enhance lips and fill superficial lines and wrinkles
- Voluma: A hyaluronic acid filler that adds cheek volume and lasts longer, up to 1-2 years
- Sculptra® Aesthetic: A poly-L-lactic acid filler that stimulates collagen production to help the skin renew itself over time; used to fill in deep folds, wrinkles, sunken cheeks, and depressions, the results can last several years
How long is the recovery?
Because these treatments are nonsurgical, there is no lengthy recovery period. In fact, they are often referred to as “lunchtime procedures” because treatment sessions are so short that many patients schedule them during their lunch break and then return to work immediately after.
How long will my results last?
The results of facial injectable treatments can last for many months or even years. Optimal results may be best maintained with regular maintenance treatments approximately every 4 months to 2 years. The recommended frequency of your touch-up treatments depends on the formula used and is determined on a case by case basis.
What results can I expect?
The results of BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers are often visible within a few minutes to a few days after treatment, although it is recommended to schedule treatments at least 2 weeks before any special event to allow for full effect and any possible bruising or swelling to resolve. With some fillers, your results may continue to improve over time. Your treatment can refresh your face by eliminating fine lines, wrinkles, folds, cheek sagging, and volume loss. With regular treatments, you can maintain a youthful appearance long-term. Schedule your consultation with Dr. Aycock to learn more about how these nonsurgical facial rejuvenation treatments can help you maintain an ageless appearance.
